Which aka brand did you have.I thought single coil intronik stf can detect 5ft easily then two coils intronik D can detect more deep. But intronik D no more , anyway did you see the big 25" coil deep test .

For beginners to the hobby in finding coins, relics, and lost jewelry, you need to consider several factors when buying a device. You certainly don’t want to jump into some product, just because you saw your friend use it on the beach.

Even if they may have succeeded in finding a golden necklace buried in the sand, while you only found a dime, you should also think that they may have a specialized type of metal detector, not just an entry-level device. Another thing, experienced hobbyists in the activity may already have a good collection of detectors, not just one; while at the same time they have developed the skills and ability to tell which targets are highly valuable.

And that I think SuchMuch can assist you better. Good luck dude

I must say that AKA detector equipped with 7 kHz coil = "All Purpose" metal detector. Should it be equipped with 3 kHz coil, it turns into deep high conductive (mid size and large copper/silver coins) targets hunter, with high frequency coils it becomes a perfect vacuum cleaner for low conductors (jewelry, hammies etc)
